Lachlan Shire Council has put forward a Planning Proposal to rezone 1 McInnes Street, Lake Cargelligo (Lot 212, DP 1058505) from RU1, Primary Production, to RU5, Village. This Planning Proposal seeks to amend the Lachlan Local Environmental Plan 2013 (Lachlan LEP) if approved.

The area to be rezoned is located to the northern edge of the existing Lake Cargelligo township and is well connected to existing public facilities, including playing fields and parks, shops, the primary school, and other critical infrastructure. The total area of the land proposed to be rezoned is 44.41ha.

Lachlan Shire Council General Manager, Greg Tory, said “Council proposes the rezoning to facilitate greater housing diversity and address the shortfall of available residential land in Lake Cargelligo. This will facilitate the continued growth of the Lake Cargelligo township with a variety of lot sizes proposed within the RU5 zoned land.” “I encourage community members to view the proposal and give Council their feedback” he concluded.

The Planning Proposal will be on public exhibition from 16 August 2024 to 16 September 2024 to seek input and feedback from the community.

Copies of the Planning Proposal will be available at Lachlan Shire Council’s Condobolin and Lake Cargelligo administration offices, Tullibigeal Co-Op, Fifield Hotel, Tottenham and Burcher Post Offices, the Rabbit Trap Hotel in Albert and on Council’s website.

If you wish to comment on the Planning Proposal, please send your submission to Lachlan Shire Council, PO Box 216, Condobolin NSW 2877 or email it to council@lachlan.nsw.gov.au no later than 16 September 2024.
