NEW CITIZENS WELCOMED TO LACHLAN SHIRE

On Wednesday 17 July 2024, Lachlan Shire Council held a special citizenship ceremony at the Council Chambers in Condobolin to welcome four new Australian citizens. The ceremony was attended by Lachlan Shire Councillors and senior staff as well as a large group of family and friends of the citizenship conferees.
Council hosts citizenship ceremonies on behalf of the Department of Home Affairs. Attending a citizenship ceremony is the final step to become an Australian Citizen. The ceremony was presided over by Mayor of Lachlan Shire, Councillor Paul Phillips, who welcomed the four conferees as new Australian citizens.
Mayor Phillips said “it’s an honour to participate in citizenship ceremonies and to welcome new Australians to our community. Australia has a wonderful, multicultural community and I congratulate our newest Aussies on taking this important step to become a citizen of our great nation.”
Council and the community wish our newest citizens, David Bevan from New Zealand and the Serrano family of Val, Mabelle and Kaitlyn from the Philippines, all the best in this new and exciting stage of their lives.
