Water and Sewer Interruptions

Lachlan Shire has a vast network of water and sewer infrastructure to maintain that can be affected by tree roots, new services being installed and pipe breakages. Council will notify residents of planned interruptions to the water supply within the Lachlan Shire area by media releases that can be found below.

Current planned interruptions:

Johnston Street Lake Cargelligo - 17/12/2024

A planned interruption to water supply will impact part of Lake Street and Johnston Street, Lake Cargelligo, for water mains maintenance works. Please refer to the map below.

The interruption is scheduled to occur on Tuesday 17 December 2024 between 9.00am and 1.00pm (weather permitting).

Residents and business owners are advised that there may be a complete loss of water supply to some areas. Residents in the affected areas are requested to ensure they have ample water in reserve to cover their requirements during the supply interruption.

Any residents that have a special water need should contact Council immediately on (02) 6895 1900 for service arrangements to be made.

Your assistance in this matter is appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Council’s Infrastructure department on (02) 6895 1900 during business hours.

Sewer rehabilitation work:

Sewer rehabilitation works will be undertaken in Lake Cargelligo, Condobolin and Tottenham from Monday 16 September 2024 until Friday 13 December 2024. Trazlbat Pty Ltd has been awarded the contract for these works which involve closed-circuit television inspection (CCTV), high pressure water jetting and sewer remediation. You will see them working in the areas shown on the maps provided(PDF, 784KB)  over coming months.

Residents in the impacted areas will receive a letterbox drop as well as a courtesy door knock prior to commencement of work in their area. The contractors may need to access properties to carry out the work; however, they will not need to enter homes and you are not required to be home. Please ensure your pets are secured when work is being undertaken in the area in case entry to your property is required.

Unfortunately, some residents may experience an increase in noise, vehicle movements and odours while work is being carried out although every effort will be made to minimise these impacts. We also recommend that you leave your toilet lids down with a small weight placed on the lid (about 2kg) while cleaning works are being completed near your home to avoid fluids spurting from the toilet accidentally.

For further information on the works being carried out, please contact Trazlbat’s Project Manager, Neelam Singh on 0424 606 895.

For all general enquiries in relation to these works please contact Council’s Infrastructure Services Department on 02 6895 1900 during business hours.
